Pizza Pi (Seattle)

Written by Mark McElroy

Frankly? I prefer my pizza with a healthy pile of pork toppings. But when eating vegan, sausage and pepperoni (and cheese!) are outta bounds. So we found our way to Pizza Pi, where we ordered the artichoke dip (non-dairy, natch), a veggie pie, and the “Ex-Meat Eater” for me.

The dip was the star of the show: creamy, rich, satisfying. The pies? Well … not my favorite, but good, as vegan pizza goes.

I’m not much for tapioca-based fake cheese, which tastes a bit like warm mayonnaise, and the fake meats on my pie were a little bland. A dash of hot sauce, though, did a lot to crank up the flavor index … and made my pizza more palatable.
